somatic & nature therapy.
support for your human experience.
Some things are hard to name but we still feel them deeply.
That breath you’ve been holding all week. The tightness in your shoulders.
Feeling disconnected, even around people you care about.
Managing everything… but feeling like you’re slowly disappearing in the process.
These are all expressions of what your nervous system, your heart, and your mind are holding… and what may be yearning for expression, for change, and for support.
If you’ve been looking for therapy that doesn’t ask you to push through, perform, or intellectualise your pain away, you might resonate with my approach.
This is not about pathologising/diagnosing or ‘fixing’ your experience.
It’s about remembering who you are beneath the noise. It’s about expanding your capacity to be with your feelings, sensations and thoughts in a way that honours rather than bypasses them.
Together, we’ll work gently and deeply, through nature-based, somatic, and creative approaches, to help you reconnect to your body, emotions, and sense of aliveness. To your own way of being human in this world.
somatic & nature therapy.
Offering something different to traditional sit and talk therapy.
Many of us have spent years trying to think our way through exhaustion, self-doubt, and that gnawing feeling that something is missing.
We’ve internalised the messages:
Work harder. Be productive. Keep everyone happy. Don’t slow down.
But no amount of pushing through has brought the deep fulfilment, ease, or belonging we crave.
This is counselling that honours your whole human experience.
We start from where you are, in your body, in your story, in your life.
Together we slow down and listen to your system, the parts that shut down, the parts that overwork, the parts that hold grief or fear or longing.
The work is intentionally gentle, but definitely not passive.
This is not traditional “sit and talk” therapy.
It’s an invitation to come back into relationship with yourself: body, mind, heart and spirit.
My approach is to offer longer sessions of 90 minutes each - allowing us to work in depth - with a strong focus on resourcing your mind, body and heart with the tools that will continue to support you long after our work together has finished.
Sessions are held in-person, in a range of beautiful and semi-private outdoor spaces around the Brisbane region.
Current locations: Clayfield (Brisbane) & Scarborough (Moreton Bay). ALSO available online via video link.

the threads of the work.
EXPLORE YOUR HUMAN EXPERIENCE & FIND PATHWAYS TO FLOURISHING, THROUGH:
CONNECTION TO NATURE
Be supported within nature, as you connect with your inner signals and resources. Draw from nature to work in partnership with your nervous system and cultivate deep foundations of self-expression, aliveness and safety.
CREATIVE EXPRESSION
Creative expression is incredibly therapeutic, yet we need a baseline of internal and relational safety to access our creativity. Together, we will explore paths back to safety so you can connect with your creative self.
EMBODIED CONVERSATIONS
Learn more about what brings you pleasure, peace and purpose. Deepen your self-understanding and self-expression. Work in partnership with your nervous system and your felt experience of the world.
i’m not your typical counsellor or coach.
I DON’T BELIEVE COUNSELLING SHOULD BE A PRESCRIPTIVE, ONE-APPROACH-FITS-ALL EXPERIENCE.
I have a warm, nurturing presence, and my compassionate communication style helps others feel comfortable to talk freely without fear of judgement.
I draw on 15 years of professional experience as a mental health social worker, as well as lifelong experience as a multi-passionate and creative person in this world, with my own lived experience of shifting mental health and of re-learning self after trauma.
I will support and celebrate you, and I will be honest with you when you’re too hard on yourself.
I will not pathologise your experience or diagnose you with a mental health condition. Instead, we will work together to identify and draw on your own resources and strengths to holistically support all of you - heart, body and mind.
my philosophy.
I appreciate that trust is not assumed, it’s built over time.
I don’t assume that I’m holding safe space, because what feels safe for me may not feel safe for you. Instead, I make sure that my spaces are resourced and open-minded enough for you to show up and access your own safety.
I hold space and offer support as someone in this with you, not above you.
I’m not here to tell you how to live your human experience, or to prescribe one way of being. I hold intentional space, as you decide what is right for you.
Everything is invitational, so if something doesn’t work for you please move to something else that does bring you into connection (rather than out of connection)
Together, we co-create the container of holding space for exploration, expansion and clarity.

Traditional talk therapy isn’t for everyone
Sitting across from a therapist can feel very intense, or even confrontational. Taking therapy outdoors has been shown to have strong outcomes for improved wellbeing and reduction of symptoms.
Time to pause and time to rest
Our modern times are relentless and our nervous systems aren’t built for this relentless strain.
Finding time and space to pause and to rest can be immensely challenging when we’re in the pattern of busy-ness.
These sessions offer space away from the to-do’s and permission to pause.
Through this we can reconnect to what it feels like to slow down (even just a little) and find simple ways to bring this into everyday life.
Other-than human support
In the space that lives between yearning to feel greater connection and safety with others, and deepening our sense of inner safety, nature can offer us a consistently nurturing place to turn.
Our human lives also mirror nature, moving through different seasons and cycles.
Orienting to nature's rhythms can support the deepening of our connection with (and understanding of) our own internal seasons and stories.

I think differently about mental health and I don’t think it always fits into the medical model (though I am very supportive of some of the wonderful evidence-based approaches which continue to make a big difference for people).
While I am therapeutically trained, and have a background in clinical social work, this way of working is different to maybe the way you've worked before.
This is a more fluid process, led by you, and supported by my mental health qualifications and experience, as well as our human experiences, intuition and innovative, creative minds - because you have the answers within your body, heart and mind.
It’s a blending of social work principles (seeing the whole person within the context of their experiences, environments, and history), counselling and coaching approaches - where you’re supported holistically and flexibly towards finding your own truth, answers, and resourcing - while still being grounded in ethics and evidence-based best practice.
This is your time to step back from external narratives, to listen to those subtle signals and cues that are yearning to be heard - the inner communications that are such powerful clarity bringers when given the space to share their wisdom with us.

You do not need to feel ‘broken’ or ‘unwell’ to access these containers - in fact, this is not traditional ‘therapy’ for a reason.
Many of the individuals I work with aren’t looking for or needing ‘therapy’ in the traditional sense.
Instead, they are craving a space to understand themselves better. They often have enjoyable outside lives, yet inside, feel there’s some inner experiences or processes that feel unseen, confusing, or misaligned to them. They may wish to explore a side of themselves or ways of being that are new or have not been expressed externally for a while.
They may wish to deepen their awareness of and understanding of their inner signals, and how tuning in to the body, heart and mind through nature, creative expression, and self expression, supports them to find paths back to a felt sense of safety.
Some people connect with me at a point where they feel okay, yet there’s a persistent yearning for a deeper, more fulfilling connection to self, others and purpose.
Some speak of feeling isolated because they don’t fit into a box; or they feel stuck with how to move toward their vision for a more congruent and passionate future.
Some have tried traditional talk therapies and are looking for something different - a space that holds their creativity, diversity, and nervous system needs, that is focused around building their own inner ecosystem of resourcing and self leadership - a holistic and whole-person approach deeply based in relational safety that meets them where they are.
They describe longing for supportive spaces from which to reconnect to self, deepen self-expression, and set forth on their new path towards more meaning, passion, connection, safety, aliveness and creativity in their day-to-day life.

Voxer is a free walkie-talkie type app that we will use for up to 30 minutes of communication each week between our in-person sessions.
It allows for easeful written or spoken communication, so you can connect in to share reflections or experiences that are present for you during our work together.

In the case of wet weather at the time of your session, there are a few options.
I try to choose areas to meet where there is some cover from light rain. If suitable, we can hold the session under cover.
Alternatively, we can consider an online session, meeting at a cafe or rescheduling the session to another day.
-
Absolutely. I offer sessions over video link for folks who live elsewhere, and for those who prefer video sessions. These sessions are based on the same core foundations of nature, creative expression and somatic / embodied support. We will weave these into sessions as is supportive for you - just as we would in-person.
